Carcich, Esq., and Sheila E. O’Shea-Criscione, Esq., have been selected to the prestigious 2026 Super Lawyers list, as a recognition of their unwavering commitment to exceptional legal representation and client advocacy in employment and business law.

A Distinguished Honor Based on Peer Recognition

The Super Lawyers designation is awarded to only the top 5% of attorneys in each state. Christopher J. Carcich: A Unique Perspective in Employment Law

Christopher Carcich is a co-founder of Carcich O’Shea with over 22 years of legal experience in business, employment, and insurance law. His practice focuses on business litigation, employment contracts, wage and hour disputes, restrictive covenants, partnership and commercial disputes, appellate matters, and mediation and arbitration.

Before pursuing law, Christopher served as a Third Officer in the United States Merchant Marine, sailing for Mobil Oil and Maritime Overseas Corporation. This maritime background has given him a distinctive perspective in employment law, allowing him to understand employment cases from both employee and employer viewpoints. He regularly represents both workers and employers, which is relatively uncommon in the employment law field.

At Carcich O’Shea, Christopher maintains an intentionally small staff to provide personalized service where clients speak directly with an attorney. He consistently upholds the principles of open communication, regular updates, and collaborative decision-making with clients.

Sheila E. O’Shea-Criscione: Three Decades of Advocacy Excellence

Sheila O’Shea-Criscione is a partner at Carcich O’Shea with over 30 years of experience in employment and education law. She has built a reputation as a tenacious advocate for employees, employers, teachers, and students throughout New Jersey.

Sheila is a trained and qualified mediator for the Statewide Mediation Program for Civil, General Equity, and Probate Cases, mediating both private and court-appointed disputes. She regularly appears before the New Jersey Superior Court and Municipal Court in northern New Jersey and serves as a Trustee of the Bergen County Bar Association, Vice President of the Women’s Lawyers in Bergen County, and member of the Justice Morris Pashman Inn of Court.

Sheila has a reputation for carefully listening to clients’ needs and fighting tenaciously for their rights. She views employment termination as comparable to a professional divorce and focuses on helping clients overcome this challenge and emerge in a better position.

Carcich O’Shea’s Commitment to Clients

Carcich O’Shea represents both small businesses and employees with a philosophy centered on helping employers create safe and productive workplaces, while providing employees guidance and peace of mind when dealing with workplace discrimination, sexual harassment, hostile workplace environments, medical leave, and other workplace issues.

The firm’s intentionally small structure allows for personalized attention, direct attorney-client communication, and the development of relationships where clients become like family. This approach, combined with decades of combined experience and proven track records, has enabled both partners to build reputations as effective advocates who achieve favorable outcomes for their clients.
